Product Description

The 2AD100D-B05OB2-CS03/S019 servo motor from the 2AD series always has cooling requirements that must be done using the blower. The blower uses air currents that are passed through the channels over the surface of the motor from (A to B side) to cool it down. To make sure the blower is using enough air to cool down the motor, it is recommended by Bosch Rexroth, the manufacturer of the motor, that a minimum distance of 80 mm must be kept between the blower and the wall. The optimum ambient temperature which is recommended by the manufacturer is 0-45 degree Celsius exceeding this may decrease the optimal performance factor.

The 2AD motors are equipped with holding brakes. This brake holds the motor from rotating when there is no power applied to it or when the motor is not running. The brake uses 24 volts of DC power with 10% deflection. To ensure proper safety it is recommended that the brake power must be monitored, and its control must have an undervoltage detection system. During the operation of the motor, every 8 hours the brake functionality must be tested for better safety and the same should be done before starting the operation.

This motor has an electrically engaged brake installed on it. This brake holds the motor from moving when there is no signal applied to it. If the motor torque is larger than the torque the brake can hold then eventually the brake would wear down prematurely. For servo applications, the electrically released holding brakes should be used. Whereas for the main spindle applications the electrically engaged holding brakes should be used. For a particular application, the required holding torque must not exceed a maximum of 60% of the stationary holding torque of the holding brake that is being used. If the brake is not used for more than 48 hours, then there is a chance of the development of a thin rust film on it. To remove this film, it is recommended to grind the brake at 100 rpm.
