The serial code is not based on random numbers, as each code field denotes a particular characteristic of the motor. The motors in this 2AD series share certain characteristics, such as squirrel cages, housed motors, and induction. A squirrel cage denotes the rotor's specific design, used in induction motors.

The rotor has a steel core in a cylindrical form, and the parallel bars are fixed along the length.
