Designed for heavy industrial applications the Rexroth 2AD100D-B05OA1-AS03/S005 is an AC motor that features a sealed shaft based on the S005 configuration. The motor has an IP 65-rated design that can be used in extreme industrial environments. Like the other 2AD100D motors in this series, the 2AD100D-B05OA1-AS03/S005 features an Axial blower that is IP 24 rated protecting against finger touches. This motor has a compact design with dimensions of 223 mm x 507 mm and weighs 36 kg.

The motor comes with a standard bearing type that allows it to increase its speed from 1500 rpm to 9000 rpm. When using the motor at a maximum speed of 9000 rpm it is always recommended to replace the bearings with fresh ones after 30000 hours of use. The 2AD100D-B05OA1-AS03/S005 comes with a Multi-turn absolute encoder that has 2048 increments in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions allowing for precise control of the shaft. This motor motor does not come with an extended shaft however using a coupling device the shaft can be extended to create a dual-ended shaft.

Even with an axial fan the 2AD100D-B05OA1-AS03/S005 is very quiet with a sound range of just under 70 dB. To prevent the motor from vibration and moving when in use the 2AD100D-B05OA1-AS03/S005 can be mounted on a flange connected to a rigid base. Rexroth recommends operating the motor in an environment with an ambient temperature of less than 40 degrees Celsius although the motor has an insulation class F that allows it to bear high temperatures of up to 155 degrees Celsius when used under normal operation mode. The motor should always be mounted 1000m above sea level for optimal performance.
