2AD100C-B05OB2-AS03-A2N1/S003 is an asynchronous servo motor. It is known as a servo motor because it supports feedback: a sensor measures shaft sped and position, and the motor sends this information to a motor controller. The function of the controller is two-fold: supply motor power and control motor speed and position. Real-time feedback from the motor allows the controller to perform near real-time adjustments to its output to ensure that motor speed and torque match desired values programmed by the operator. This is an example of closed-loop feedback, which is used for applications that require a very high level of accuracy or precision. The 2AD100C-B05OB2-AS03-A2N1/S003 motor supports high-resolution motor feedback. A feedback cable connects the motor to the controller. A separate power cable also connects the two devices. Operators can select from four options for the motor power connector location.

If required, operators can order shaft with a keyway and with a shaft seal. Bosch has designed this motor for surface cooling and equipped it with an axial blower. Power required of the blower is 230 Volts AC. Rated motor operation is only possible when the ambient temperature is between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius and the elevation is between 0 and 1000 meters.
