Product Description
Choosing Bosch Rexroth is a smart decision that many manufacturers worldwide have made. The automation giant has numerous future-proof drive and motion control units in its portfolio. One of these is the high-performance asynchronous 2AD motor. These motors are available in different frame sizes and speeds to allow optimum adaptation to the machine. They are used in printing machines, reshaping machines, food processing machines, and machine tools.
The 2AD100C-B05OA4-AS03 is an air-cooled induction motor in Bosch Rexroth’s 2AD series designed for use as a main-spindle drive. Its heat elimination system comprises an axial blowing unit whose air currents are carried over its surface by air baffles. This blowing unit generates cooling air currents moving from side B to side A. The two NTC thermistors built into the windings of the 2AD motor prevent overload damage by monitoring its temperature. They trigger pre-defined protective mechanisms at threshold temperatures and notify users of the fault. The induction motor can be operated at a nominal current of 27A and a nominal voltage of 168V.
Using a squirrel-cage rotor, the 2AD100C-B05OA4-AS03 converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. The rotor enables its noiseless operation due to its simple design. This design contributes to the motor’s maintenance-free operation as it has neither brushes nor slip rings. Built to attain a nominal speed of 1,500 revolutions per minute, the 2AD model can attain a maximum speed of 9,000 revolutions per minute. Its integrated feedback type is high-resolution motor feedback, ensuring position detection and evaluation with a high degree of precision. The motor should be operated at an ambient temperature ranging between 0oC and 45oC and installed at a maximum height of 1,000m.
