Product Description
Many users of Bosch Rexroth’s automation products are able to achieve operational excellence thanks to the high quality of these products. One of these is the 2AD induction motor with a squirrel-cage rotor and fixed blower units for surface ventilation.
The 2AD100C-B05OA1-AS03 is one of the asynchronous servo motors of the 2AD series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. Its windings contain NTC thermistors that monitor its temperature to prevent permanent damage due to thermal overload. These thermistors have a fast response time, enabling them to rapidly detect temperature changes and respond accordingly with corresponding protective mechanisms. The 2AD motor’s sealed housing permits its use even in poor environmental conditions. This design corresponds with the IP 65 Ingress Protection category, according to DIN 40 050. It is touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to water jets sprayed at it from different directions. The base speed of the 2AD model is 1,500 revolutions per minute, while its maximum speed is 9,000 revolutions per minute.
An axial blower generates cooling air currents for heat dissipation during the operation of the 2AD100C-B05OA1-AS03. These air currents are fed over the motor’s surface via baffles and travel from side B to side A. The motor’s feedback system is high-resolution motor feedback for detecting its relative indirect position. With this feedback system, there is no need for a separate incremental encoder. The 2AD motor uses lifetime-lubricated bearings with a mechanical service life of 20,000 operating hours. It generates a nominal torque of 35Nm and accommodates a nominal current of 27A. Based on its frame shape, it permits flange mounting and should be installed at a maximum height of 1,000m above sea level.
