Product Description
Built with squirrel-cage rotors and a compact build, the air-cooled induction motors of the 2AD series by Bosch Rexroth are used as rotary main-spindle and servo-drive motors. They are asynchronous motors with high-performance features. Their typical applications include food-processing and packaging machines, metal-forming machines, printing and paper-processing machines, and machine tools.
The 2AD100B-B05OA5-AS03-A2N2 is a model of asynchronous motors from Bosch Rexroth's 2AD series. It is built to operate with a base speed of 1,500 revolutions per minute and reaches a maximum speed of 9,000 revolutions per minute. Its simple and robust squirrel-cage rotor has a moment of inertia of 0.014 kgm2 and low maintenance requirements. Given its standard bearing with deep-groove ball bearings, the motor is suitable for applications that involve high rotational speeds. The bearings absorb low to medium radial and axial forces and ensure the motor’s noiseless operation. They have a nominal service life of 20,000 operating hours. According to the DIN 40 050 standards, the Ingress Protection of the 2AD motor is IP 65, indicating that it is touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to multidirectional water jets.
NTC thermistors built into the windings of the 2AD100B-B05OA5-AS03-A2N2 protect it from permanent damage due to thermal overload. The AC motor’s cooling is achieved via surface cooling with the aid of an axial blower generating air currents flowing from side A to side B. Air baffles guide the currents so that they spread over the motor’s surface, where a temperature gradient facilitates heat exchange. The motor is also equipped with high-resolution motor feedback for the precise detection of its relative indirect position. This feedback system eliminates the need for a separate incremental encoder.
