A member of the ZK Motor Cable Series, the ZK4704-0421-2020 from Beckhoff is a very stable and long-lasting motor cable that is excellent for use in harsh industrial settings, particularly drag-chain applications.
The elegant and useful design of this cable is meant to enable it to resist both mechanical pressure and continuous motion. Cable Head A has an itec® connector of the 915 Series, including a plug type with female contacts. The power (3+PE) and signal (5) connectors are both supported in the connector configuration to meet all connection needs in various applications. The used wire termination technique is a crimp connection, which is considered one of the most effective in connecting wires with strong mechanical and electrical joints. The color of the body of this connector is black, which is close to RAL 9011, making it easier to create a uniform look in different pieces of equipment. Head B of the cable is an open end and the cable has an 8-wire plus shield structure, meaning that various types of equipment can be easily connected and the cable can be easily tailored for a particular application. The cable has two different geometries; the power wires are around 0.75 square millimeters (AWG18) and the signal wires are around 0.34 square millimeters (AWG22) to suit their transmission functions.
The outer diameter of the cable is 11.0 mm and the tolerance is ± 0.4 mm, the entire cable is covered with an orange polyurethane (PUR) sheath. PUR is selected as it provides high Abrasion, Oil, and Environmental resistance making the cable have a longer life span and perform well under dynamic applications.
