The ZK1090-3161-0020 EtherCAT cable in question is an industrial Ethernet cable designed for robust use in drag-chain applications. It features an M8 plug at Head A and an M12 plug at Head B. Head A operates at 63 V with a rated current of 4 A while Head B operates at 160 V with the same current capacity. The insulation resistance of Head A is ≥ 100 GΩ while Head B provides ≥ 10 GΩ. Both heads are shielded for electromagnetic compatibility. The Head B plug offers a rated impulse voltage of 2.5 kV that makes the cable suitable for high speed and reliable data transfer in automation systems. The cable’s specifications highlight its suitability for demanding applications with a 4 pin configuration, a star quad cable structure and 90 % shielding coverage. The product has an Ethernet based electrical design with signal running times of 5.55 ns/m.
The ZK1090-3161-0020 EtherCAT cable supports up to 20 million cycles in drag chain use. The conductor is made of tinned copper and the shielding braid provides enhanced protection against electrical interference. It offers a 100 Ω ± 15 Ω characteristic impedance at 100 MHz. The cable’s insulation is made from polypropylene while the jacket is constructed from durable PUR material. The cable’s test voltage is 700 V. The EtherCAT cable has a diameter of 5.4 mm ± 0.3 mm and a minimum bending radius of 20x the cable diameter for moved installations.
