The EtherCAT cable ZK1090-3131-0002 from Beckhoff is a high performance data transmission solution designed for EtherCAT networks. It is optimized for industrial automation applications including data exchange in Ethernet based control systems. The cable is drag-chain suitable.
This EtherCAT cable has a rated voltage of 30 V and offers superior shielding with an attenuation of ≥ 43 dB. The insulation resistance is ≥ 150 MΩ/km. The unbalanced capacitance to ground is 3400 pF/km and the mutual capacitance is 51 pF/m at 1 kHz which supports efficient data transmission. The model’s characteristic impedance is 100 Ω ± 15 Ω which is within the tolerance needed for high speed Ethernet communication. It features loop resistance of 250 Ω/km, unbalanced resistance of 2 % and dielectric strength of 1000 V DC/700 V AC for both wire-to-wire and wire-to-shield connections. The cable’s signal running time is 5.55 ns/m adhering to Cat.5 standards for Ethernet performance. The cable has a star quad structure with a conductor cross-section of 1 x 4 x 0.14 mm² (AWG26).
The EtherCAT cable ZK1090-3131-0002 is designed with a green PUR (polyurethane) jacket that provides excellent resistance to environmental factors. The outer cable diameter is 5.4 mm ± 0.3 mm and the minimum bending radius for dynamic applications is 20 times the outer diameter while for fixed installations it is 4 times the outer diameter. The cable weighs 40 kg/km and has a maximum operating speed of 15 m/s with a maximum acceleration of 10 m/s². It supports up to 20 million bending cycles. The wire insulation is made of PP (polypropylene) with a wall thickness of 0.25 mm and the shielding is composed of braided tinned copper wires with 90 % optical coverage. The wire color coding includes yellow, orange, white and blue.
