This unique device from Beckhoff - the KL3314-0022 is a highly efficient and reliable 4-channel analog input terminal build for measuring temperature with thermocouples. This KL3314-0022 terminal bus works with various sensor types by including B,E, J, K, L and some other types with K-type as the default one. The terminal measures temperature in ranges defined by each sensor and also supports millivolt measurements within a range of ±30 milli-volts to ±120 milli-volts. It uses a simple 2-wire connection and has a fast conversion time of about 250 milliseconds. It provides precise temperature readings which is accurate to 0.1°C per unit and works with only a small measurement tolerance error of ±0.5% of the full range. For added reliability, it includes a built-in feature to detect wiring issues which is used with system diagnostics. It also ensures safety with electrical isolation up to 500 V between the K-bus as well as for the signal voltage. Drawing just 75 mA from the K-bus, it finely operates without needing any additional power contacts for operation.

This KL3314-0022 terminal bus consisted of a mass of just 75 grams and is simple to install on a standard DIN rail 35mm mounting that conforms to EN 60715 and measures just 12 mm in width, 100 mm in height, and 68 mm in depth according to its dimensions. It operates reliably in environments with temperatures between 0 and 55°C and can be stored at temperatures as low as -25°C. Its key feature as vibration and shock resistance adheres to EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 standards. It also meets EMC immunity and emission requirements with IP20 protection rating for durability in industrial applications.
