Product Description

The KL2809 is one of the products belonging to the KL Analog Input Series from Beckhoff. This is a bus terminal for digital output applications with a capacity of up to 16 channels 24 V DC on the load side with up to a maximum current of 0.5 A per channel. Thus, the device is suitable for controlling several digital devices in automation systems. Short-circuit protection increases module reliability. On each channel, there is protection good for up to 0.5 A and a short-circuit current of less than 2 A.

This bus terminal will be set to work at a nominal voltage of 24 V DC with -15% to +20% tolerance, thus permitting operating in diverse power environments. Its reverse voltage protection protects the system against instability caused by strong influences; furthermore, the channel structure can break energy levels below 150 mJ, which contributes to its stability at extreme conditions. The KL2809 draws 35 mA from the power contacts, in addition to the load, and 35 mA from the K-bus, so the devices are suitable for multi-channel outputs. The extremely compact module weighs approximately 70 g, so it is very light and easy to install in a wide variety of configurations.

The KL2809 can operate within a range of -25 to +60°C, as well as survives different environmental conditions. It can also be stored at temperatures between -40 and +85°C safely. It is stringently put for industrial standards with its specifications that follow EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 for its resistance to vibration and shock, respectively. Its electromagnetic compatibility follows those of EN 61000-6-2 for immunity and EN 61000-6-4 for emission. It is very reliable for most demanding applications in automation.
