Product Description

The KL1809/PL3 module from Beckhoff for the KL Analog Input Series can be described as a high-performance 16-channel digital input module with a very good precision characteristic in signal processing. The module acts on a nominal voltage of 24 V DC (-15%/+20%), ensuring therefore reliable measurements of input in industrial practice. The module is constructed according to EN 61131-2, type 1/3 standards, which most automation systems in use today adhere to in order to ensure compatibility and reliability. It can receive a signal voltage of -3 to +5 V and 1 signal voltage between 11 and 30 V, thus enabling it to be flexible in accepting diverse input signals.

This device is equipped with an input filter of typ. 3.0 ms, which successfully removes noise from the input signal while maintaining the accuracy. The input current is usually 3 mA, in accordance with EN 61131-2, type 3 standards, which can be used in an energy-conscious configuration. The module takes 20 mA from K-bus, whereas the power contacts consume 4 mA plus load, and this determines the efficient usage of energy. This provides 16 bits of width in the bit, which can therefore be able to handle heavy data handling for complex control processes.

Being built for reliability, this module operates in a temperature range of -25°C to +60°C and is designed to be stored in a temperature range of -40 to +85°C. The module features an IP20 rating that allows it to operate the module safely under controlled conditions indoors. The versatility is also achieved through installation positions made on the module. At around 60 g in weight, it is light in weight but robust for most automation systems. The reliability, accuracy, and power efficiency KL1809/PL3 makes it very reliable for high-end industrial processes.
