The KL1184 is an element of Beckhoff’s KL Analog Input family used for efficient and accurate data input in automation applications. The communication of this module is done through a 2/3-wire connection technology that enables it to suit most industrial applications.
This specific model has been designed for ground switching and for this reason, it has four inputs that work well for mid-level monitoring. The required voltage is 24 V DC with an allowable deviation of 15% below and 20% above, which allows for stable operation at different power supply voltages. The signal voltage for the 0 state is between 18-30V and for the 1 state is between 0-7V which enables easy separation of the signal and processing. Each input has an inherent filter of 3.0 ms to eliminate noise and enhance the quality of signals and has an average input current of 5 mA. The module can be considered as having a low level of impact on the overall system since it draws a current of only 8 mA from the K-bus, which proves the high efficiency of the module. The KL1184 weighs about 55g and has a bit width of 4 inputs in the process image to enable it to effectively support the system and contribute to its data handling functionality without increasing the system’s weight or bulk.
It has a working temperature of 0°C to +55°C and can be stored at -25°C to +85°C. The module also conforms to vibration and shock handling following EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 and for EMC immunity and emission, the module conforms to the standard EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4.
