The IE1502 is a versatile extension box counter module designed for industrial automation by offering 2 counter inputs. It is manufactured by Beckhoff which is a well-known company of manufacturers for advanced hardware and software solutions used in a wide range of industries as automating machinery, production processes, and building systems.

This IE1502 extension box counter module holds 2 gate inputs, and 2 up/down switches. This unit ensures precise performance with a counting frequency of 100 kHz for high-speed applications. For switching between up and down modes, it operates at 2 kHz. Each of its two counters features a depth of 32 bits by mainly providing accurate and reliable data handling. This IE extension box series counter unit supports M12 screw-type connections and a nominal input voltage of 24 V DC. It supports both "0" signal voltages of -3 to +5 V and "1" signal voltages of 11 to 30 V conforming to the EN 61131-2, type 2 standard. Measuring 30 mm x 126 mm x 26.5 mm, this unit is compact and constructed from durable polyamide (PA6), with flexible mounting options via 3.5 mm fixing holes. Approvals include CE and UL certifications. It has two 24 V DC outputs, each rated at 0.5 A, the IE1502 ensures effective short-circuit protection.

This IE1502 counter unit’s sensor supply is derived from the control voltage, also protected against short-circuits. Power is delivered via M8 connectors for easy and reliable integration into existing systems. It offers 80 inputs and outputs, including 32-bit data and 8-bit control/status bits. It consumes a mere 25 mA from the supply current (without sensor current). It features IP65/66/67 protection.
