The Beckhoff FC5102-0000, also referred to as the FC Lightbus Card Series, is a dual-channel CANopen Lightbus card focused on PC communication through a PCI bus. It is designed for data transfer at a maximum speed of 1000 kbaud enabling a diverse connection in various uses on CANopen networks.

Also, this card has two fieldbus ports that are equipped with CANopen specification 9 pin D-sub connectors and are optically isolated to prevent distortion of signals during communication. The termination resistor is unscrewing allowing for easy customization of the networks. To enhance hardware troubleshooting, there are 2 channel-specific LEDs per channel, allowing instant checks of the channel's status. There is no lock-up in defining who gets error management for each user on the bus allowing more fault management within the system. The card equally allows bus load readout during operation, bus monitoring, and allows reading bus configuration and node parameters easing diagnostics and set up.

FC5102-0000 is capable of managing 3 kbytes of each of input and output data on process image’s each channel that enhances large volumes of data to be transferred. It works in a temperature range of 0 to +55 °C allowing it to be utilized in any general industrial area. The dimensions of the card are 106 mm x 175 mm and can be used with any PCI slots with highlights on integration. Event-driven, time-driven, synchronous, and polling all types of CANopen PDO communication types are supported by this card. Even these features can be effectively used such as SDO communication of parameters, EMCY, guarding, and heartbeat, and the tasks of the PC controller can be locked with the cycle of synchronization such that there is no accumulated jitter during control or data transfer.
