EPP2308-0001 is an EtherCAT P box for industrial networks. Ethernet for Control Automation Technology, or EtherCAT, is a high-performance Ethernet-based fieldbus system designed for real-time industrial automation and control applications. The technology was developed by Beckhoff Automation and it enables fast and efficient data exchange between a master controller and multiple slave devices, such as sensors and actuators, in a network. EtherCAT P supplements EtherCAT technology by providing a means for transmitting communication and power on a common line. All EtherCAT technical properties are retained with this new and innovative process. EtherCAT P Box modules operate as EtherCAT P slaves and have IP67 protection rating. These boxes are optimized for operation in wet, dirty and dusty operating environments. The EPP2308-0001 box provides four digital outputs and four digital inputs in one device.
Connection to the device is via two M8 sockets with 4 pins that are shielded. The nominal voltage is 24 Volts DC and the maximum current is 3 Amps. There are four digital inputs on the EPP2308-0001 box. The maximum cable length is 30 meters. The inputs are type 3 according to EN 61131-2. The voltage level of 0 signal level is -3 to 5 Volts DC. The voltage level for 1 signal level is 11 to 30 Volts DC. The typical input current is 6 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The sensor power supply is 24 Volts DC. The box supports four digital outputs. The supported cable length is up to 30 meters. The output current per channel is 0.5 Amps. The total output current can go up to 3 Amps. The maximum short circuit current is 1.5 Amps per channel.
