Product Description

EP1957-0022 is an EtherCAT box. It is a product of Beckhoff Automation. The box is designed especially for safety applications and provides safe outputs and fail-safe inputs. Signals connect to the box through M12 connectors. Load voltage is used for providing power to sensors connected to the input channels. Safety parameters on the box adapt to safety requirements of the application. Operators can use the box as a safety controller. The range of input and output channels allows use of the box for safety applications. Safety applications can also be implemented with the box in stand-alone mode without using EtherCAT. Special features on the box include integrated TwinSAFE functionality, realization of safety loops, and ANDing of standard outputs with an output signal. The box supports EtherCAT network connectivity via two M8 sockets.

There are 8 input channels and 4 output channels on the EP1957-0022 box. The box can deliver total 0.5 Amps to the output channels. The cycle time varies according to project size and is approximately 1 millisecond. Watchdog time is parameterizable and is always greater than or equal to the fault response time. Current consumption of the box from the supply voltage is 120 milliamps. Operators can use variable installation positions. Mounting is possible with M4 size screws. The box has two fixing holes that are sized for M4 screws. Its weight is 315 grams and the dimensions are 60 x 126 x 26.5 millimeters. Polyamide is used for box housing construction. Protection rating of the unit is IP67, which allows its deployment and operation for multiple applications in different hostile environments. The EP1957-0022 box complies with En61508 and EN ISO 13849.
