Product Description
The Beckhoff’s module EP1612-0003 is a digital input module that brings flexibility and reliability to industrial automation. Beckhoff creates top-class technological equipment by focusing on powerful controllers, I/O systems, and EtherCAT modules that boost efficiency in industries around the world.
This EP1612-0003 digital input module is equipped with 16 digital inputs by making it suitable for systems that require multiple signal readings. The inputs are handled with precision due to its input filter time of 10 µs. This time helps in ensuring accurate and fast signal processing. It connects via two M8 with 4-pin a-coded sockets which are shielded for durability and stability. The input connections use a spring-loaded system which aids in secure and simple installation. With a nominal input voltage of 24 V DC, it maintains steady performance even with minor voltage fluctuations and helps in supporting a range of -15% to +20%. This EP digital input series module weights just 165 grams and operates reliably between -25°C and +60°C with storage temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as +85°C. Its vibration and shock resistance meet proper standards and EMC immunity conformations lead to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4.
The EP1612-0003 digital input module’s housing is made of PA6 polyamide and ensures an IP20 protection feature for secure installations. Also, it includes connections for power supply with both male and female M8 and 4-pin a-coded sockets which helps in stable power flow. It is built with input voltage levels for “0” at -3 to +5 V and for “1” at 11 to 30 V. The input current typically runs at 3 mA and is approved with EN 61131-2 Type 3 requirements. It also supports distributed clocks by enhancing clock setups for precise timing applications.
