Product Description
The ELM7222-0010 is a state-of-the-art servo motor EtherCAT terminal designed by Beckhoff Automation. The terminal is equipped with an integrated absolute value interface that supports high servo performance standards while maintaining a compact design. The EtherCAT terminal is designed specifically for permanent magnet-excited three-phase synchronous motors. The terminal has enough outputs to simultaneously support two servo motors, two motor brakes and a braking resistor. Also, there are four digital input interfaces and two motor feedback interfaces integrated into the terminal. The ELM7222-0010 EtherCAT terminal provides a permanent solution for industrial operators that operate fast and highly dynamic positioning tasks. It is also equipped with the One Cable Technology, which allows motor feedback signals that will originally be transmitted through a feedback cable to be sent digitally through the existing motor cable.
The ELM7222-0010 EtherCAT interface delivers a supply voltage of 24 volts through its power contacts; however, the DC link voltage supplied externally through the X0004 connection can be between 8 to about 48 volts. The ELM7222-0010 EtherCAT terminal has a metal housing that supports the rapid dissipation of heat; however, ambient temperature during operation should be between 0 to about 55 degrees Celsius. If the terminal is not in operation, it can be stored at an ambient temperature that falls within the range of -25 to 85 degrees Celsius.
The current controller frequency of the ELM7222-0010 is about 32 kilohertz, while the PWN clock frequency is 16 kilohertz. During operation, the E-bus on the terminal consumes about 120 milliamperes of current. Also, the typical power loss from the terminal is 10 watts. The product has a total weight of approximately 0.39 kilograms.
