Product Description
Beckhoff Automation is an engineering company that specializes in the implementation of open automation systems using trusted PC-based control technology. In 2003, the company developed the EtherCAT communication system, which improved industrial automation by providing a flexible topology, faster communication, and an integrated safety communication system. The ELM3602-0000 is a terminal that functions with the EtherCAT technology; it is also manufactured by Beckhoff Automation and is designed for the evaluation of Integrated Electronic Piezo Electric Sensors which are mainly used for vibration diagnostics and acoustics. The input characteristics of this product are flexible and can be adjusted. The ELM3602-0000 module offers a free numeric filter, Non-linear scaling, and an Extended Range of about 107 percent. It also contains two connection channels and uses the two-wire connection technology.
The connection type of this product is a push in 2-pin version, this is more suited for industrial use where the plug is unplugged less frequently for maintenance purposes, and fast wiring is much more important. Also, each channel's simultaneous maximum sampling rate is 20 microseconds per 50 kilo samples per second. During operation, the internal resistance on the ELM3602-0000 is about two mega-ohms. The oversampling factor can be selected between 1 to 100. This product has a 24-bit electrical resolution. It does not contain any electrical isolation channel. This product can carry out extensive functional self-diagnosis to ensure reliable long-term operation even in unattended environments without frequent maintenance routines.
The ELM3602-0000 EtherCAT terminal dissipates excess heat from its housing through natural convection; this is very efficient since the motor housing is made from a Zinc Die Cast. Typically, the product dissipates 3 watts of heat energy.
