Product Description
The EL7041 is part of the ELXXXX series EtherCAT Terminals manufactured by Beckhoff. These terminals, with the aids of their fine granularity, enable the composition of the needed I/O channels with bit precision. They come with varying number of channels, which may be 2, 4, 8, or 16 in total. Many of them are IP 20 protected and are approved by CE and UL. The EL7041 terminals is ideal for medium performance range stepper motors. Depending on the specific stepper motor and application, the EL7041 may be altered for perfect fitting by varying its parameters.
The terminal comes with a 64-fold micro-stepping step pattern and about 30 kHz current controller frequency. It has a maximum output current of 5.0 A and a weight of approximately 90g. The supply voltage electronics is 24 V DC (through power contacts), while the supply voltage power is 8…50 V DC (external). It takes 2 x end position and 1 x encoder inputs and gives 1 x stepper motor output. The EL7041 comes with a compact Drive Technology and a 2-phase unipolar/bipolar stepper motor load. Connecting it is via direct motor connection plus feedback. The current consumption power contacts and current consumption E-bus are typ. 50 mA and typ. 140 mA, respectively.
The EL7041 gives a step frequency of up to 8,000 full steps and has up to 5000-position (per revolution) resolution. As for the input frequency, it’s up to 400,000 increments while the encoder input signal is 5…24 V DC, typ. 5 mA, single-ended. It comes with distributed clocks and 500 V (E-bus/field potential) electrical isolation. Its operating temperature, storage temperature, and relative humidity are 0…+55oC, -25…+85oC, and 95% (no condensation), respectively. The vibration and shock resistance follows the EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 while the EMC immunity and emission follows the EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 specifications. This product can be purchased from Wake Industrial with a one-year warranty period.
