EL7211-0010 is an EtherCAT terminal with one-channel motion interface. It is designed for servo control of Beckhoff industrial motors. Integrated Beckhoff OCT technology enables transmission of motor power and feedback data on a single cable, reducing cable requirements and significantly reducing installation and maintenance costs. The terminal automatically reads in the electronic type plate of the connected motor for auto configuration. This helps to reduce commissioning expenditure. The terminal uses PI control technology for rapid positioning control. Support for overvoltage and undervoltage protection, overcurrent protection, motor load protection and terminal temperature protection provides additional operating safety. EtherCAT provides a fast and reliable communication medium. The EL7211-0010 terminal is based on Beckhoff’s compact drive technology and support direct motor connection via the OCT interface. It supports two end position inputs and one feedback input.
The terminal is compatible with permanent magnet industrial servo motors. It has one output for the motor and one for the motor brake. Voltage rating for the electronics is 24 Volts DC via the power contacts. Supply voltage for the motor power is 8 to 48 Volts DC. The maximum output current rating is 4.5 Amps rms. The peak output current is 9 Amps for 1 second. Frequency of the rotating field can vary from 0 to 599 Hertz. The pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency is 16 kHz. The current controller frequency is 32 kHz. The rated frequency for the speed controller is 16 kHz. Output voltage for the motor brake is 24 Volts DC and the maximum current for the motor brake is 0.5 Amps. The EL7211-0010 terminal supports distributed clocks. Its weight is 95 grams and its dimensions are 24 x 100 x 68 millimeters.
