The EL6740-0010 is an Interbus slave terminal manufactured by Beckhoff to facilitate the integration of Interbus devices into Ethercat control systems. Designed for seamless communication and data exchange, this terminal acts as a bridge between the control system and multiple devices within an automation setup. It utilizes the Interbus fieldbus system, offering one fieldbus channel to communicate with other devices on the network. This simplifies the setup by allowing all data to flow through this one channel instead of requiring multiple connections. The terminal supports data transfer rates of 500 kbit/s and can operate at a default speed of 2 Mbit/s.

This terminal features two D-sub plugs with 9 pins each, designed for easy connection to the fieldbus network. These plugs include screening to reduce electromagnetic interference and a vibration lock to ensure a secure connection, which helps maintain reliable communication even in challenging environments. The terminal can handle a maximum of 32 words of input and 32 words of output data, allowing for efficient operation and communication with other devices on the network. It operates on a 450 mA current supply from the E-bus, ensuring optimal performance.
