The Beckhoff EL6070-0000 is a small and light terminal within the EL EtherCAT Terminal Series which is used to manage the transmission of license data through EtherCAT networks. Its compact dimensions of twelve millimeters by one hundred millimeters by sixty eight millimeters in height together with its mass of fifty grams helps it to be integrated into automation systems without excessive bulk. This terminal has the E-bus as its power source with a current consumption of 120 mA. It is rated at IP20 and as such can be used in controlled environments. The EL6070-0000 terminals are cable-mounted to 35 mm wide rails that comply with EN 60715 for easy and safe installation.

The EL6070-0000 runs smoothly in a temperature range of negative twenty-five to positive sixty degrees Celsius and can be stored in temperatures of negative forty degrees to positive eighty-five degrees Celsius. In terms of mechanical stresses EL6070-0000 meets vibration and shock requirements outlined in European Standard EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27. It further meets the requirement of en61000-6-2 and en61000-6-4 for electromagnetic immunity and emission. With the mark of certification from CE & UL, it can also be used in potentially explosive atmospheres since it has also received ATEX, IECEx and cFMus approvals.

As it has the ATEX (II3 G Ex ec IIC T4 Gc) and IECEx marks of conformity, which prove that the device is explosion protected. The EL6070-0000 has a polycarbonate casing and is built to reduce the effort spent on the transfer of license data in EtherCAT systems. This feature is especially advantageous in complex applications where software licenses are needed in numerous places, such as a single point on an automation system.
