Product Description
The Beckhoff EL5101-0010 is an incremental encoder interface terminal designed to evaluate incremental signals from encoders or sensors. It provides high precision due to its integrated 32/16-bit counters, making it ideal for motion control applications. The terminal enables the connection of 5 V incremental encoders and offers flexible synchronization with real-time systems through distributed clocks. The terminal is designed with a single channel for handling one encoder input, making it suitable for applications that require accurate feedback from a single source. It supplies a 5 V DC operating voltage to the connected encoder. This ensures that the encoder receives a stable power supply without requiring an external power source.
With a maximum input frequency of up to 5 MHz, the EL5101-0010 can handle high-speed incremental encoders. The terminal can accurately capture fast-moving signals without data loss, ensuring reliable performance. It features integrated frequency and period measurement, allowing it to accurately track the frequency of incoming signals and measure the time between events. The terminal also includes functions for saving, locking, and setting the counter, which enhances its usability. It operates on a nominal voltage of 24 V DC, with a tolerance range of -15% to +20%. It consumes 130 mA from the E-bus and provides electrical isolation of up to 500 V between the E-bus and the field potential for protection against voltage spikes.
The EL5101-0010 features compact terminal housing made from polycarbonate, ensuring durability. It measures 24 x 100 mm x 68 mm, making it suitable for tight installations. It is suited for installation on a standard 35 mm DIN rail, adhering to EN 60715 specifications, users also have the option to mount it side-by-side by utilizing a double slot and key connection.
