Product Description:
The Beckhoff EL3311-0000 is a single channel analog input terminal device developed by the Beckhoff company. It is a part of the EL EtherCAT Terminal Series and can be used for high precision temperature and voltage measurement. It has a resolution of 16 bits and is powered by the E-bus bus pulling current equivalent to 200 mA. This terminal also has the capability of channel wise wire break detection which makes it most preferable for operations where constant and dependable monitoring of sensor connections is of utmost importance.
The EL3311-00000 is capable of measuring numerous thermocouple types which include B, C, E, J, K, L, N, R, and S, and U, K type being the general arrangement. For voltage measurement it has coverage of ranges of ±30, ±60, and ±75 mV. As for the voltage input measurement uncertainty level of ±75 mV, it is 140% (relating to full scale) @ 23 °C. Hence the measurement will produce very accurate results. In terms of temperatures, the terminal enables precise measurement of thermocouples since both internal and external cold junction compensation are provided for temperature readings.
Depending on its filter options and the configuration of the measured device, the terminal’s internal conversion time can vary between 20 ms and 750 ms, but is set to a standard rate of 75 ms. The resolution for the input signal can either be 0.1/0.01°C or 1/2/4 µV per digit however this depends on the measurement type and application needs. The limit input filter frequency is 1 kHz which helps to reduce noise and helps in the stabilization of the signal.
