Product Description
This device, Beckhoff EL3202-0000, is a temperature measuring device with a resistance measuring capability. This device has dual inputs and is able to support standard types of sensors such as: Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni120, Ni1000, KTY sensors as well as resistive measurements. The terminal in question is EL EtherCAT Terminal Series which also means it can function perfectly in an EtherCAT network.
The EL3202-0000 allows a resolution of 0.1°C per digit useful for temperature measurement. The temperature range of -200°C to +850°C when measuring Pt and -60°C to +250°C for Ni enables the measurement device to be used in a variety of industrial environments. The sensor can operate within a measurement error of ± 0.5°C for Pt sensors which are critical under tough conditions where reliability is key.
The unit under study connects in either a two or three wire configuration which by default is a two wire configuration. It offers real time AID providing stable measurement. The cutoff frequency of the input filter is 1 kHz which is sufficient to reduce interference from other noise signals. Conversion time can be set between 2 ms and 800 ms, with a default of 85ms which balances speed with stability depending on application requirements. Monitoring of limit values adds onto the unit’s safety features through monitoring functions that trigger alarm signals when threshold limits predefined in the unit are crossed. The EL3202-0000 is powered from the E-bus with a power consumption of 190mA on average and has 2 x 32-bit RTD inputs incorporated in the process image. It meets the standards of vibration and shock resistance as outlined in EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27, thus guaranteeing reliable performance in harsh industrial conditions.
