Product Description
The EL2911-0000 is a member of the EL EtherCAT series designed by well-trained engineers of the Reputable Beckhoff Automation. This product series helps customers to achieve a decentralized connection of sensors and actuators to a controller. This product is a reliable, safe potential feed terminal that serves as the power contact for a downstream potential group. It also features four fail-safe inputs for customers who want to connect sensors with potential-free contacts for 24 volts. This terminal is equipped with an integrated TwinSAFE safety solution which meets the requirements of EN 62061:2005/A2 2015 to SIL CL3. The TwinSAFE terminal can automatically detect connection errors and prevent damage or failure by switching to the safe state. This makes it possible for interference-free standard terminals to be safely switched off and integrated into the safety application.
The EL2911-0000 TwinSAFE EtherCAT terminal does not store safety parameters directly; instead, these parameters are transmitted to the input terminal through the use of a TwinSAFE Logic-capable component. Up to 128 safe connections can be made with this product. The current consumption through the E-Bus is about 180 milliamperes, while the current consumption through the power contacts is load-dependent. 24 Volt sensors that can be directly connected to this product include emergency stop push buttons, rope pull switches, position switches, and two-hand switches. Also 24-volt actuators such as contactors, protective door switches, and servo drives can be directly connected.
The response time it takes for the EL2911-0000 to read inputs and write to the E-bus is typically about 4 milliseconds; however, the fault reaction time depends on the watchdog time determined by the operator. Also, the output current for the clock outputs on this product is estimated to be 10 milliamperes, although this can reach a peak value of 12 milliamperes.
