The company’s EtherCAT terminals provide a fast all-in-one platform for all automation functions. The terminals serve as a real-time I/O system that has a modular structure. The EtherCAT terminals are known for their high performance and versatility. They can be configured very easily and are used for the integration of Fieldbus systems and safety devices. The EK1322 is an EtherCAT coupler that comes with two-ports that are used to connect EtherCAT P strands and individual EtherCAT P devices. When an EtherCAT strand has been installed, the EK1322 can be installed between any two points within the strand. The coupler uses a shielded EtherCAT P cable for data transfer. The device uses a 24 V DC supply for power requirements.

The EK1322 can be operated in different ambient conditions. Temperatures as low as 0 ᵒC and as high as 55 ᵒC are suitable for the device. For storage, the temperature range is even greater (-25 ᵒC to 85 ᵒC). The coupler’s front terminals can be used for sensor & system supply and for EtherCAT’s output supply. The sensor & system supply operates on 3 mA current. The output actuators also require 3 mA current. The coupler can also be used for communication with higher-level PC controllers. There are multiple status LEDs on the front end of the device. Two ports for EtherCAT P junctions are also provided. With these features, the EK1322 is an integral component of the Beckhoff EtherCAT terminals.
