The EK1100 is a high-performance EtherCAT Coupler designed by a well-known manufacturer, Beckhoff, to integrate EtherCAT Terminals into 100BASE-TX EtherCAT networks efficiently. The coupler enables reliable data communication and connection of up to 65,534 EtherCAT Terminals without the need for configuration. The Beckhoff coupler is ideal for applications requiring high data transfer rates and minimal delay to make it suitable for various industrial automation systems.

The EK1100 offers a data transfer rate of 100 Mbit/s to ensure fast and reliable communication. It provides a short delay of approximately 1 us that ensures low-latency operation in time-sensitive processes. The device features two RJ45 bus interfaces that offer straightforward connectivity to Ethernet networks. Between the power contact, the supply voltage, and the Ethernet, the coupler ensures electrical separation of up to 500 V. However, it works well in temperatures ranging from -25 degrees C to +60 degrees C. The coupler can be used in a variety of settings. The temperature range for storage is -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. With a 2000 mA E-bus current source, the power contacts can handle up to 24 V DC and 10 A. Current consumption from the US is 70 mA plus the sum of E-bus current divided by 4, and current consumption from UP is load-dependent.

The EK1100 EtherCAT coupler meets the standards for resistance to shaking and shock set by EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27.
