Beckhoff produces the CX9020-0112 embedded PC. It is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail inside a terminal box. The control cabinet should meet IP 54 protection category. Due to its high performance and compact design, it can result in increased heat production. A space of 30mm should be left above and below the CX9020-0112. The ventilation openings are located at the top and bottom of the housing. Ensure that there is no obstruction for optimum airflow and use air filters to mitigate the entry of pollutants. 

The CX9020-0112 features a Windows Embedded Compact 7 operating system and a TwinCAT 3 (XAR) runtime environment. It features a protection class of IP 20, a weight of approximately 590g, and measures 84mm x 99mm x 91mm (W x H x D). It has a power supply of 24 V DC, current supply to I/O connection of 2A, and maximum power consumption of 5W. The CPU’s interfaces include one optional interface, two RJ45 internal switch interfaces, four USB 2.0, and one DVI-D interface. Its memory consists of 128 KB NOVRAM persistent memory, 1 GB DDR3 RAM main memory, and 512MB microSD flash memory with two slots.

The CX9020-0112 should be operated in temperatures ranging from -25 to 60 degrees Celsius, and stored in a range between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. Some of its markings and approvals include CE, UL, and GL. This DIN rail-mountable unit can automatically detect the bus system at hand and switch appropriately. It is designed for applications that require Industrial PC characteristics and computing capacity but on a limited budget.
