Product Description
The CX8050 Embedded CPU is a compact and high-performance controller designed for industrial automation. Developed by Beckhoff, it features an Arm9 processor running at 400 MHz that provides efficient control capabilities. The device includes 512 MB of microSD flash memory, expandable for larger projects, and 64 MB of DDR2 RAM for effective data handling. Its key features include support for web-based management, online code changes, and web visualization, making it a versatile solution for automation tasks.
The CX8050 embedded CPU offers several technical features that enhance its functionality. It supports IEC 61131-3 programming languages that allow engineers to easily program and manage control software. The system provides one RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface for communication. It includes a USB device interface behind the front flap, and a D-sub connector adhering to CANopen specifications. The CAN bus interface is galvanically decoupled to ensure secure and reliable data transmission. Passive cooling is used for efficient heat dissipation without moving parts. The CX8050 also includes an integrated 1-second UPS with 1 MB storage on the microSD card that ensures minimal data loss during short power interruptions. The device's internal battery-backed clock ensures accurate timekeeping and is easily replaceable via the front flap.
The CX8050 CPU operates on the Windows Embedded CE 6 operating system and is compatible with Beckhoff's TwinCAT 2 PLC software for control tasks. The system automatically recognizes I/O connections via E-bus or K-bus which are powered by a 24 V DC power supply. The maximum power consumption of the device is 3 W while the E-bus/K-bus current supply provides up to 2 A with a maximum power consumption of 10 W. Diagnostic LEDs for TC and bus status allow real-time monitoring of the system.
