The CX5120-0140 is an embedded PC manufactured by the Beckhoff Company. Like other CX series Embedded PCs, it features a modular and space-saving design. This embedded PC is a combination of Industrial PC and hardware PLC making it a perfect fit for all control tasks. The modular design allows you to add or omit components according to the requirements of the task such as budget and task complexity. This in return enables you to carry out different tasks on the same hardware while reducing space, cost, and power consumption.

The CX5120-0140 features a Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 32-bit operating system but lacks a TwinCAT runtime environment. It comes with an Intel Atom processor that features a 1.46 GHz clock rate. The flash memory is a combination of MicroSD and CFast card slots while the main memory features 2GB of DDR3 RAM storage. The status LEDs include power, TC status, bus status, and flash access. The CX5120-0140 comes with an internal clock that comes with replaceable batteries. The battery compartment is accessible from the back flap. This Beckhoff embedded PC features a K-bus or E-bus I/O connection that has automation recognition, a 24V DC (-15% / +20%) power supply, a current supply of 2A, and maximum power consumption of 11W.

The CX5120-0140’s ambient conditions include storage temperature of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, relative humidity less than 95% (free from condensation), and operating temperature of -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. The shock resistance and EMC immunity conform to EN 60068-2-6/EN 60068-2-27 and EN 61000-6-2/EN 61000-6-4 respectively. It should be mounted inside a control cabinet since it features an IP20 protection class. CE, IECEx, and UL are some of the approvals and markings that the CX5120-0140 meets.
