The Beckhoff Embedded PC CX Series, model CX5010-0125, utilizes an Intel Atom Z510 processor with a clock frequency of 1.1GHz. This device contains a single-core CPU, which allows it to efficiently conduct a variety of industrial computer functions.

It features a Compact Flash Card port where a 128 MB Compact Flash card is loaded, which the user can expand based on his or her storage needs. This variant has 512 MB of RAM that cannot be upgraded, and it comes pre-installed with the Windows Embedded Standard 2009. The system is also backed up with an integrated 1-second UPS on the Compact Flash card to protect data during brief power failures. It is well connected, featuring two RJ45 slots for 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet connection, one DVI-D slot for digital video output, and four USB 2.0 slots for other devices. It also contains an optional interface that can be adjusted to meet the needs of individual users. The CX5010-0125 uses air as the cooling medium hence increasing the system reliability through minimal maintenance and removal of mechanical cooling systems. Diagnostic monitoring is not a problem with LED indicators for power, TC status, flash access, and bus connectivity. The device has an integrated battery-backed calendar that provides precise timekeeping and can be replaced when necessary.

For input/output connections, this model has an E-bus with auto-detection which makes the system easy to set up and extend. The power supply should be 24 V DC with an allowable variation of -15% to +20%, to provide a stable supply in different power conditions. The power consumption is only 12W and the dimensions are 106mm x 100mm x 92mm, making it a small device that can fit into most configurations without hogging a lot of space.
