The CX1020-0023 is an example of Beckhoff’s popular series of Embedded PC CX Series used for industrial automation and control. It has an Intel® Celeron® M processor ULV with 1 GHz and one core for effective and equally stable work when the compactness of the device is crucial.

This embedded PC has a built-in 128 MB Compact Flash card and accepts an additional Compact Flash card for increased storage that can be tailored to the needs of the specific application. The RAM is DDR SDRAM with a minimum capacity of 256 MB and options to expand to up to 1 GB in the factory, for increased capacity when needed. It is equipped with two RJ45 ports with 10/100 Mbit/s, integrating an internal switch that improves the connection and the structural arrangement of the network. The cooling system is essentially passive, thus improving the reliability and longevity of the device, with an active cooling option available during the factory configuration for environments that demand it. Diagnostic monitoring is comprehensive and is supplemented by power, LAN link/activity LEDs, TC status, and flash access LEDs. These features facilitate easy identification of problems and the state of affairs with a glance. It has provisions for an expansion slot which accepts a Compact Flash type I+II card with a built-in ejection mechanism thus increasing the versatility of the unit.
