The Beckhoff CX1020-0010 is a fully-fledged embedded PC in the CX line that is specially made for industrial automation. It is small and thin. The fact that this processor only has one core makes it perfect for stable performance in everyday robotic tasks.

There are 256 MB of DDR RAM available for system RAM. This amount can be raised by one GB to cater to more complex programs. A Compact Flash card space on the CX1020-0010 provides internal storage. The card comes with 128 MB of built-in storage by default, but it can be made bigger if more storage is needed. This works well for embedded apps that need a stable LAN link. The CX1020-0010 has two RJ45-based Ethernet ports that support 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet and an internal switch. For cooling, this device uses passive heat sinks. However, active cooling can be added if airflow needs are more severe.

This model has maximum intensity white LEDs that go out, which can be used to show the power state. The link activity, LAN link activity, TwinCAT status, and LAN flash access/flash memory all have real-time hardware-level status input that helps the system work. This gadget also has a built-in clock circuit with a battery backup that makes sure the correct time is read even if the power source is slow. This is especially helpful for tasks that need to be done quickly. WinEmbedded CE 6 or WinEmbedded standard 2009 can be used with the CX1020-0010. This product works with TwinCAT 2 PLC runtime, NC PTP runtime, and NC I runtime, so it can be used for automation and motion control.
