The CP2219-0020 is a highly regarded multi-touch Beckhoff control panel capable of achieving high response times. It is equipped with a high-resolution TFT display and a set of function keys for immediate user inputs. The function keys can be defined and programmed by the user via the control panel’s software. During operation, the CP2219-0020 can withstand an ambient temperature of 32 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit at 0 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. The CP2219-0020 is designed for control cabinet installations via its set of clamping levers. The main material used for its casing is aluminum, which is a light yet durable material.

The aluminum frame of the CP2219-0020 provides an extra layer of protection against corrosive elements and environments. Aluminum typically develops a natural aluminum oxide layer, which prevents further corrosion of the aluminum material. The CP2219-0020 also comes with several ports and interfaces for facilitating various communication and connectivity functions. In total, the CP2219-0020 has nine connection interfaces for connecting the control panel to the power supply, DVI, USB, RS232, and Ethernet. The RS232 and USB interfaces are for serial communication, while the DVI is for transmitting video signals. The two Ethernet RJ45 connection interfaces are for establishing network connections at transmission rates of 100/1000 Mbps.

Like other multi-touch control panels by Beckhoff, the CP2219-0020 can additionally be configured with a push-button extension. Particularly, the push-button extension model compatible with the CP2219-0020 is the C9900-G008. For other applications requiring different interfaces, various optional interfaces may also be bought along with the control panel. Some of the most common optional interfaces available and compatible with the CP2219-0020 are the C9900-E241 (COM2 RS485) and the FC9071-0000 (Gigabit Ethernet PC card).
