Product Description
AX2506-B510 is a digital servo amplifier from Beckhoff’s AX2500 product line. It is a master module and requires 115 to 230 Volts AC input. A CANopen fieldbus interface is available as a standard feature. One RS-232 serial interface is also a standard feature. The amplifier can be operated with either single-phase or three-phase AC input. Unearthed operation is permitted by Beckhoff. An integrated interference suppression filter for the AC supply protects the amplifier from noise and interference and helps with EMC compliance. The output stage is an IGBT module with isolated current measurement. The clock frequency range is 8 to 16 kHz. Internal regen is a standard feature and external regen can be ordered if required. The DC bus link voltage on the AX2506-B510 amplifier is 160 to 320 Volts DC.
Temperature monitoring for the motor and amplifier are available when Beckhoff preassembled cables are used. PC based configuration can be performed via an easy-to-use software. A keypad with two keys and a 3-digit LED display on the master amplifier can also be used for configuration. The AX2506-B510 is fully programmable via the serial RS-232 interface. The maximum installed load for the amplifier is 7 kVA. Its rated output is 6 Amps rms and the peak output is 12 Amps rms at 8 kHz. The default output stage frequency is 8 kHz and can be changed to 16 kHz with a reduction in the output power. The maximum and minimum load inductances are 40 and 7.5 millihenry. With output stage disabled, the quiescent dissipation is 15 Watts. At rated current the dissipation of the amplifier is 60 Watts. The unit weighs approximately 3 kilograms.
