The AS1050-0000 stepper motor is an additional solution made from the AS1000 range stepper motor series that is useful for auxiliary axes and also for precise positioning drives in various industries. This motor has NEMA23 flange sizes (56mm) that provide a very high holding torque of 1.20 Nm and thereby this motor is well suited for jobs with high torque and precise positioning. The AS1050, works within 24–48 V D C supply voltage and rating current of 5.0 A, thus making it capable of delivering excellent and efficient performance for motion endeavors with high demands.
It even has a feature of micro-stepping which makes positioning accurate without having a closed loop. The step angle of this motor is 1.8 degree (200 full steps) for every complete rotation. It supports synchronization with, for instance, cam plates or flying saws through TwinCAT NC PTP so that there is no delay while working. The M12 cable bundle connection method offers a very good and reliable electrical connection.
The AS1050 stepper motor offers an operating temperature of between 0 and +40°C with CE certification, which supports the usability of the device in industrial application on one hand, as well as on the other, operational safety and efficiency. The surface temperature of the motor can reach over 100 degrees Celsius when in use, and this can expose people to danger of burns. There is a need for adherence to the safety measures such as ensuring that there is at least 15 minutes cool down period for the motor after use, as well as taking the surface temperature of the motor to be sure it is safe to handle.
