Product Description
AM8041-0E21-0000 is an advanced servo motor. It is made by Beckhoff Automation for industrial use. The motor is called a servo motor because it is equipped with a feedback sensor that measure motor speed and position and sends this information, known as feedback, to a servo drive tasked with controlling these parameters. It is a synchronous motor: the shaft speed is synchronized with the input current frequency. The motor is part of the AM8000 series which uses an electronic circuit instead of carbon brushes for commutation. This commutation method significantly reduces maintenance requirements and enables use of these motors in environments where brushed motors cannot be operated. Permanent magnets are used on the main rotor for low inertia operation. AM8041-0E21-0000 is a motor with a multi turn encoder. The motor has a smooth main shaft.
A holding brake is installed for operational safety. Function of the brake is to prevent accidental motor shaft rotation. The brake’s holding torque is 9 Nm at 120 degrees Celsius. It operates at 24 Volts DC and draws 0.54 Amps. Power consumption of the brake is 18 Watts. Relay delay time of the brake is 40 milliseconds and its application delay time is 20 milliseconds. At 115 Volts AC, the motor shaft speed is 1300 RPM, the output torque is 2.43 Nm and the power output is 0.33 kilowatts. At 230 Volts AC, the motor shaft speed is 3000 RPM, the output torque is 2.39 Nm and the power output is 0.75 kilowatts. At 400 Volts AC, the motor shaft speed is 6000 RPM, the output torque is 2.31 Nm and the power output is 1.45 kilowatts. At 480 Volts AC, the motor shaft speed is 6800 RPM, the output torque is 2.27 Nm and the power output is 1.62 kilowatts.
