Product Description
The AM8032-0D20-0000 is a servo motor. The brushless design from Beckhoff makes it reliable and usable in conditions where brushed motors can not be used. An electronic circuit is used for commutation, which the process of switching current direction in motor windings. This circuit does not require replacement, and neither does it create sparks like carbon brushes. The motor dissipates heat via convection cooling. This cooling method removes heat from surface through the movement of fluid, typically air. It relies on convection, where warmer, less dense fluid rises while cooler, denser fluid moves in to take its place. Convection cooling is cost effective as it does not rely on fans or blowers for creating air flow. AM8000 motors work optimally when the ambient temperature is maintained between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius.
The motor can operate over a wide AC input range. At 115 Volts, the specifications for power, torque and speed at 0.15 kilowatts, 2.37 Nm and 600 RPM. At 230 Volts, the specifications for power, torque and speed at 0.37 kilowatts, 2.34 Nm and 1500 RPM. At 400 Volts, the specifications for power, torque and speed at 0.72 kilowatts, 2.30 Nm and 3000 RPM. At 480 Volts, the specifications for power, torque and speed at 0.8 kilowatts, 2.26 Nm and 3400 RPM. The motor uses iTec connection technology for the servo drive connection. The AM8032-0D20-0000 motor has 8 poles. A smooth shaft is used on the unit. A precise and accurate multi turn encoder provides feedback data. The housing features a 72 millimeter flange for mounting purposes. The housing is coated with an anthracite gray powder coat. Only qualified personnel with proper training should work on the motor.
