AM237M-0021 is an industrial DC servo motor. The motor is part of the AM237 series from Beckhoff Automation. The AM series of synchronous servo motors is designed for applications that include industrial robots, machine tools, textile and packing machinery. Design of the motors is optimized for industrial applications that require accurate motor control. These motors feature a resolver, which is a sensor for measuring the speed and shaft position. The resolver converts mechanical motion into an electrical signal. Resolvers provide high accuracy and reliability in position sensing. The permissible maximum relative humidity is 85%. Output of the motors derates at a rate of 1%/K for the 40 to 50 degrees Celsius range. The motors have a flange on the housing for machine mounting. Standard protection class of the motor is IP65. A standard feature available on each motor is a thermostat. This thermostat does not provide any protection against short and heavy overloading. Nominal speed of the AM237M-0021 motor is 6000 RPM. Its rated output power, torque and current are 0.5 kilowatts, 0.8 Nm and 1.5 Amps respectively. The servo motor has 6 poles and the resolver has 2 poles.
