Product Description
AM227L-0000 is a servo motor. It is part of the AM motor product line from Beckhoff. The motor requires DC input at 400 to 460 Volts for routine operations. It is therefore suited to industrial applications where stable and reliable DC power is available. Only properly qualified personnel should perform tasks such as transport, assembly, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the servo motor. The motor housing and the servo amplifier must be safely grounded to the protective earth bus bar at the installation location. Connectors must not be unplugged during operation. Operators must never disconnect the motor power connections when equipment is energized. After disconnecting power supply to the servo amplifier, operators must wait for a minimum of five minutes prior to touching any components. The capacitors in the servo amplifier carry an extremely high voltage.
Therefore, operators are requested to wait until the DC link voltage falls below 40 Volts. Surfaces on the motors can get very hot during operation. To prevent burns and serious injury, Beckhoff recommends measuring the motor surface temperature to ensure it has cooled sufficiently before working on it. AM227L-0000 is a motor with 4500 RPM nominal speed. Its torque rating at ideal ambient temperature is 0.72 Nm. Peak current output of the motor is 3.7 Amps and the rated current is 0.79 Amps. Under optimal operating conditions the AM227L-0000 motor delivers 0.34 kilowatts. The motor winding resistance and inductance are 37 Ohms and 42 millihenry respectively. The motor is without a holding brake and weighs 1.45 kilograms. The minimum required separation between control and power cables is 20 centimeters. Length of the motor is 172 millimeters. Its centering diameter is 40 millimeters.
