The unit is designed for a decentralized machine concept which requires distributed I/O that can be on any area of the machine on the industrial site. The unit offers IP67 protection rating just to achieve this feat in a conveninet manner. It also helps massively in reducing cost in areas of cabling, control cabinent, commissioning, and service. The distributed structure allows for operational flexibility. The unit is better than traditional I/O modules since it does not require extensive wiring and intermediate connections and can be installled and operated on the spot.

The X67AI1223 supports four analog I/O modules with +/- 10 V inputs. The unit comes with dedicated status indicators for I/O function for each channel, supply voltage, and bus function. It also has a 12-bit digital converter resolution and weighs around 0.2 kg.The reliable operations of the unit is due to all channels being shielded, very short cycle times and short-circuit protection. The unit gives great performance up to a temperature of 60 degree celsius. Moreover, its rugged material design allows for storage up to a temperature of 85 degree celsius.
