Product Description
X20SA4430 is a safe analog input module. It is designed for the acquisition of current signals in safety-related applications. It works with X20 series terminal blocks with 16 pins. The module is equipped with two safe analog input pairs that can measure current ranging from 0.5 to 25 milliamps. Each of the input pairs has its own sensor power supply. These input channels support differential input. The output format is SAFEINT. The load is 230 to 420 Ohms for modules with hardware revision up to D3. The load is 185 to 245 Ohms for modules with hardware revision E0 or later. The input channels are protected against overcurrent and external voltages. The maximum permitted input signal is 30.5 Volts. An analog to digital converter (ADC) on the module supports 24-bit resolution.
The ADC uses sigma-delta conversion. The maximum conversion error is 0.3% at 0.5 to 4 milliamps and 0.08% for current between 4 to 25 milliamps. The input channels on the module are galvanically isolated. Input filter on the module is configurable. Nonlinearity of the X20SA4430 module is 0.003%. The hardware input filter on the module is a first-order low-pass filter with 500 Hertz cutoff. The software filter on the module is a Sinc3 filter. Resolution of the filter is 1 microamp per LSB. Overload detection on the X20SA4430 module is available via software. Test voltage for the channel bus is 500 Volts DC and for the channel pair to channel pair is 500 Volts DC. The filter time is configurable between 1 and 66.7 milliseconds. Nominal voltage for the sensor power supply is 29 Volts DC and the nominal output current is 60 milliamps (maximum).
