X20PS4951 is a potentiometer supply module. It works with X20 PLCs from B & R Automation. This module can supply four potentiometers with ~10 Volts. Standard analog input modules are used for data evaluation. The X20PS4951 module supports short circuit and open circuit detection. Required accessories include X20BM11 which is a bus module, the X20 BM15 which is a X20 bus module with node number switch, and the X20TB12 which is a terminal block. There are three LED indicators on the X20PS4951 module: module status, operating state, and supply monitoring. Power consumption of the bus on the supply module is 0.01 Watts. Power consumption of the module internal I/O is 1.8 Watts. Specifications for the four potentiometer supply channels include 1 to 10 kiloohms potentiometer resistance, maximum 20 milliamps per channel current draw and short-circuit protection.

The isolation voltage between the channel and the bus is 500 Volts effective. The basic accuracy at +10 Volts is ~0.12%, ~0.21% at -10 Volts and ~0.165% at 20 Volts. The maximum drive is ~0.00012% per ?C at +10 Volts, ~0.00032% per ?C at -10 Volts, and ~0.00022% per ?C at 20 Volts. The manufacturer has designed the potentiometer supply module so that it can be mounted horizontally and vertically. Its ingress protection or IP rating is IP20. When installed in CAN I/O the module requires one slot for installation. Ambient conditions recommended for module operation include altitude up to 2000 meters, -25 to 60 degrees Celsius of horizontal installation, and -25 to 50 degrees Celsius for vertical installation. The relative humidity (non-condensing) for operation, storage or transport is 5 to 95%. Only qualified personnel should be involved in module installation, commissioning and maintenance.
