The B & R Automation X20 Series digital output module, X20DO8323, offers great performance for industrial automation applications. This module has been designed with eight outputs that are capable of offering good switching performance over a wide range of voltages. The X20DO8323 can regulate a nominal voltage of 11.5 to 30 volts. Each of the output channels is intended to source a nominal current of 0.5 A, the whole of the presented module can provide total nominal current not more than 4A.

Another benefit of X20DO8323 is that it has sink and source output circuits, which makes the control device compatible with all types of control systems and different types of loads. The switching performance of the module is also good with switching delay up to 450 us for 0 to 1 and 1 to 0 transition which ensures accurate and timely control of the connected devices. It also supports a maximum switching frequency of 100 Hz for the resistive loads. The module's degree of protection is rated IP20, thus providing an appropriate level of protection against unauthorized access to internal parts of the component and large solid foreign bodies. Also, it also has reverse polarity protection to avoid being destroyed by wrong connection and performance of the system is improved.

In power regulators, the X20DO8323 takes 160 mW from the bus and 200 mW from internal I/O without loads and therefore contributes to power efficient designs and low power consumption. The signal isolation voltage between the channel and the bus is 500 V. The X20DO8323 can function properly when it is placed in a horizontal position in an environment having a range of -25 to 60 degrees C. For storage, it is capable of withstanding temperature ranges of -40 degrees C up to 85 degrees C.
