Product Description
The digital output module, X20DO6321 is from the X20 series of B & R Automation and it's manufactured with great precision to offer sturdy control in industrial automation. Six digital outputs are within this module and each is equipped with a rating of 0.5 A of current and, more importantly, is operating at a relatively low nominal voltage of 24 VDC. Designed connectivity options of this X20DO6321 product include both 1 and 2-wire connections to cater for integration opportunities within different systems. Further, it utilizes a sink connection type that is widespread among digital output modules, especially in systems that require the current to be flown towards the module from the load.
Specifically, safety measures that are in-built for protection of the X20DO6321 include thermal cutoff protection. This protection is a safety mechanism that assists to prevent damage and degradation especially in areas of temperature changes. In addition, every single output has an inverse diode attached which helps prevent over voltage conditions in inductive loads. The X20DO6321 is capable of switching at maximum of 500 Hz especially when dealing with resistive loads. It also comes with a very low leakage current value which is 75 uA at the maximum and this minimizes power loss and enhances overall power system efficiency.
Switching delays are also maximized where 0 to 1 or 1 to 0 switching time is below 300 us. The module includes isolation with a rating of up to 500 V between channels and the bus which serves to shield the system from electrical interference and thus increase the system's reliability. This device comes with a wide operating temperature ranging from -25 degrees C to 60 degrees C for horizontal mounting while it ranges from -25 degrees C to 50 degrees C for vertical mounting.
