Product Description
The X20DO4649 is a rudimentary digital output module engineered by B&R Automation for controlling binary devices within the X20 system. As a digital output module, its enabled channels are dedicated to generating high or low signals at all times. The advantage of using digital signals is that it provides better immunity from noise since only two possible values can happen. As opposed to analog signals, which can take any value from a given range, digital signals are best for controlling industrial devices that take only an OFF or ON state. The X20DO4649 allows a maximum of four digital outputs, which may serve as relays and are normally open.
The X20DO4649's digital outputs function at a rated voltage of either 30 VDC or 240 VAC. At most, however, these digital outputs can only permit up to 264 VAC. The corresponding switching voltages for these channels are 110 VDC and 264 VAC. Since DC is a constant signal, it has no switching frequency. On the other hand, when the X20DO4649 has AC channels, the switching frequency range is between 45 and 63 Hz. Meanwhile, the nominal output current for this module is 5A, both for assumed voltages of 30 VDC and 240 VAC.
The X20DO4649's channels are both isolated from the bus and the I/O supply. Furthermore, each channel is also isolated from one another, which makes the output less likely to be affected by interference from other signals. Like other modules under the X20 product family, the X20DO4649 supports installations vertically or horizontally. These mounting orientations, however, result in different recommended operating temperature ranges. For this product, the transport and storage temperature ranges are the same (-40 to 85 degrees Celsius).
